Although Multi-Service is staffed with hardworking, knowledgeable professionals, we couldn't do all that we do in the community without the help of volunteers!

​In 2017, almost 700 volunteers logged 43,683 hours!
​Our volunteers come from different backgrounds, from all walks of life and have their own unique skill sets.

Administrative

Volunteers are needed to help answer phones and prepare mailings. If you enjoy writing – we’ve got a place for you! If you have experience with computer programs such as Word, Excel and Publisher – we’d love to hear from you! If you like photography, you’re the creative type, or like being a part of a committee or assisting with planning or organizing upcoming activities – we’d love to have you be a part of all that we do!

Meals on Wheels ​Drivers and Runners

Volunteers are always needed to drive or assist a driver in delivering Meals on Wheels. If you have approximately two hours at lunchtime, one or two days per month, give us a call!

Meals on Wheels Sanitizers

​Volunteers are always needed to sanitize all of the hot and cold containers and ice packs when they are returned from all the routes.

Store-to-Door Grocery Shopping Assistance

Perhaps you would like to volunteer, but work during normal business hours. We have the perfect opportunity for you! SHOPPING! You know you LOVE it! We are searching for volunteers to food shop FOR our clients. We will train you. You pick the day and time you are available, shop and drop off the groceries to the person. It’s that simple.

Income Tax Assistance Program

Interested volunteers will be required to participate in a training program for the completion of federal and state taxes. Tax forms may be completed online and will be limited to relatively simple filings.

Tournament Monitoring​

​Lively competitions take place in our game room! Be a part of the excitement of Wii Bowling and Bean Bag Baseball by monitoring our games once a month. Our participants promise not to heckle you!

Special Events Volunteer

​If large groups of people interest you, then we need you! We are looking for volunteers to assist with
  • Summer Picnic
  • Grandparent’s Day
  • Festival of Trees
  • Basket Raffle
  • Other Community Events
Your primary duties would include setting up games and activities, serving food, and supervising the day’s activities.​

Voluntary Volunteers / Mandated Community Service Volunteers

Please note: We conduct a background checks for all prospective volunteers.
Our background checks takes 2-3 weeks to process. Boyertown Area Multi-Service reserves the right to exclude certain types of offenders from service through our organization. Fact Sheets on Background Checks for Volunteers

  1. Complete/Return a Volunteer Application & Questionnaire to Boyertown Area MultiService 200 W. Spring St. Boyertown, PA. 19512
  2. An in-person “Meet & Greet will be scheduled.
  3. If the Individual is interested in MOW, a separate MOW application should also be completed.
  4. An active PA Driver’s License or Real ID must be photocopied and kept on file.
  5. If interested in MOW, current automobile insurance coverage will be photocopied and retained in the Volunteer file.
  1. Required Background clearances will be kept on file. Depending on results, Boyertown Area Multi-Service retains the right to turn away an individual who has either 2 misdemeanors or 1 felony within the past 5 years or has been indicated on a Prohibited Listing of Sexual Offenders. Mandated Volunteers – Mandated Volunteers will meet with the HR/Operations Director before acceptance.
  2. Volunteer Attestation Disclosure Acknowledgement- must be acknowledged/signed.
  3. If the prospective Volunteer completes the process, an Onboarding Tour and Training is scheduled.
  4. The Volunteer Handbook Acknowledgement must be signed and returned.
  5. A Volunteer Start day is scheduled, and specific department training will be arranged.
